CarePlus is a Medica re Advantage plan headquartered in Miami, with approximately 991employees s erving 18 counties and more than 45,852 members throughout the state o f Florida. They are part of Humana, a Fortune 100 company. In 201 8 they began to embark on building a data platform while simultaneously dev eloping a Data Governance program that would eventually integrate with thei r parent corporation. They conducted extensive interviews, underwent t heir own maturity baselining, and created extensive workflows to understand the nature of their work and how best to automate. This session focuses on the success of using a technological innovation to build a programmatic st ructure for managing data as a strategic asset. Outcomes included buil ding standardized data dictionaries and business glossaries, identifyi ng a prioritization method for data management, building a mission and visi on, roles for data stewardship and a data council within the organization,& nbsp;and paving the way for integration with the parent company.
